Privacy Policy

AlifBay MedAlert ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the AlifBay MedAlert mobile application handles information when you use it.

AlifBay MedAlert is a fully offline medicine reminder app designed for elderly care and personal medication management. The app does not have a server, does not require an account, and does not transmit your data anywhere over the internet during normal use.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Enter

Everything you enter into the app is stored only in a local database on your device:

• Medicine details: name, dosage, instructions, barcode, and pill counts.
• Schedules: dose times, food instructions, and active/inactive status.
• Intake history: records of doses taken, skipped, or missed.
• Doctor visits: doctor name, specialty, date/time, location, and notes you choose to add.

None of this information is collected by us, sent to any server, or made available to any third party. It exists solely on your device, in the app's local storage.

B. Camera Use

The app requests camera access only to let you scan a medicine's barcode or photograph its label for text recognition (OCR). Both the barcode lookup and the OCR text recognition are processed entirely on your device. No image or scanned data is uploaded anywhere.

C. Information We Do NOT Collect

• No account or sign-in: the app has no login, so we never see your name, email, or identity.
• No analytics or crash reporting: the app does not include any analytics SDK or telemetry.
• No location data: the app never accesses or stores your location.
• No advertising identifiers: the app shows no ads and includes no ad SDKs.

2. How Backup Files Work

The app's Settings screen lets you export a backup of all your data as a single JSON file, and restore from one later. Creating a backup uses your device's own share sheet, so you decide exactly where the file goes (your Files app, an SD card, your own cloud storage, etc.) — the app itself never uploads this file anywhere. Restoring a backup uses your device's file picker and replaces existing data only after you confirm.

3. Notifications

Dose alarms, missed-dose alerts, low-stock alerts, and doctor visit reminders are scheduled locally using your device's notification system. These notifications never leave your device and do not involve any push-notification server.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling the app removes its local database, including all medicines, schedules, history, and doctor visits — unless you have separately saved a backup file. You can also delete individual medicines, schedules, or visits at any time from within the app.

5. Children's Privacy

AlifBay MedAlert is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from anyone, including children, since it has no data collection mechanism in the first place.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
